Goals Students will gain a better understanding on the planning needed for post-secondary education. Students will gain resources used for planning life after high school

Where do you start? You’re in the process! Ask questions Focus on senior year classes Check in with your counselor Review your schedule Graduation requirements Tests SAT/ACT/Accuplacer/ASVAB

Finding the Right Fit Review your high school transcript –Weighted & Unweighted GPA –Academic, Honors, & AP level courses Tests –ACT or SAT –Placement/ Accuplacer Test Match your performance with average test scores and GPA of current freshman class using college websites

Campus Visits Why? Get a firsthand view Get answers to your questions Get valuable info Call/Email the admissions office a campus tour a host for an overnight stay classes you can attend cafeteria passes an appointment with a coach ask for an interview appointment a schedule of activities

Campus Visits continued *You must have permission to visit college on a school day have parent write note ahead of time get note signed by your administrator and take to attendance office day will count like a field trip allowed 3 per year

Application Process Applications usually become available in August Consider type of admission Be aware of deadlines Early action deadlines are typically between October and December Fill out Senior Credential Sheet (in school counseling office) Complete a Transcript Request Form (in school counseling office)

Mock Interview Two weeks away- Thursday April 14 th Junior advisors have assigned interview times Please check with them on your scheduled time If there is a conflict with time, please see Ms. Lindsay or Ms. Bosley You will be assessed on: Completed resume Completed job application Portfolio with at least two artifacts Appropriate dress
