OIA Development Plan 2016 - 2020 In 2015, analysis for the agreement period of 2009 to 2015 and development plan for 2016 to 2020  Strategic cooperation and new framework agreement were considered very useful  In 2015 OIA Development Plan was drawn up for 2016 to 2020 The objective is to shift from research funding towards a business approach. The objective is to facilitate SME growth and new business opportunities. Enterprise involvement is sought after also in the OIA steering groups. The policy outlined in the development plan is proposed the content for the new OIA Framework Agreement.

11. Change in the approach OIA to change from a co-financed organizer to an innovative ecosystem marketplace. OIA actors provide their services and skills. OIA introduces service providers and clients, in particular SMEs, to one another. These encounters will generate projects that engage the service providers’ experts in solving client needs. The project will be implemented through funding, which is a way of steering ultimate OIA results as well.

13. Why OIA Agreement? Joint strategic policy and consistent information flow and discussion are necessary. Joint effort will gain more effectiveness i.e. for protecting interests and receiving R&D&I funding. Objectives for joint action: 1.High-quality research and first-class ideas as well as product and service designs shall be commercialised, i.e. marketed and sold in the manner accessing customers not only in Finland but globally, too. 2.Innovations shall generate and enhance new businesses and trade, whether totally new startups, expanding current SMEs or new opportunities created by leaders. 3.The clients and residents shall be far more actively involved in testing, implementing, developing and creating products and services in the OIA network.
