OuluHealth ecosystem current status Social and health sector is going through transformation The costs and needs of social and healthcare are raising, in Finland the social and healthcare reform is is being planned and implemented The growth strategy of Finnish health research and innovation focuses on innovation clusters around the university hospitals Oulu is strong in LifeScience field In Oulu, built around the Oulu University Hospital, there is a significant cluster of know-how in the fields of LifeScience (bio, health and wellness) and ICT CHT was found in 2011 and OuluHealth ecosystem was found in 2012 New know-how has been strengthened in the Pre-Commercial Procurement, and in ehealth, digital health and Connected health –themes (eg Connected Health professor) Brand, collaboration models, ecosystem meetings, many interesting projects Wide international networks (European Conneceted Health Alliance, Estonia, Germany, Japan, Northern Ireland, Sweden, Denmark, etc.) OuluHealth Labs –test and pilot platform was opened in October 2015 The LifeScience companies in the Oulu region have grown steadily in turnover and in number of personnel between 2010-1H2015 Turnover growth + 33 % between 2010-14; turnover in 2014 approx. 660 Million € Personnel growth + 26 % between 2010-14; number of personnel in 2014 approximately 4100 12

OuluHealth ecosystem strategy map Mission (why do we exist) Mission is to create value and to bring synergy to the stakeholders through collaboration Vision (what will happen in the long run) In 2020, OuluHealth is an internationally active ecosystem that attracts investments and is known for its ability to produce innovative solutions to global challenges in the field of health and wellness Strategic objectives (what we focus on) Promotion of individualized health and wellbeing Efficient and effective health and social services The World's Smartest University Hospital Main goals 2016 (what needs to happen this year) 1.Steering team decides the key focus themes for 2016-2017 (meeting in June, 14 th ) 2.The ecosystem stakeholders commit to the agreed focus themes, allocate resources to work on them and report about the progress. 3.The companies in the ecosystem are able to utilize the projects and networks of the ecosystem as much as possible.
