4 Lake Baikal Fun Facts Lake Baikal is the oldest lake in the world; it is about 35 million years old. Lake Baikal experiences around 2000 earthquakes per year. Lake Baikal holds about 20% of all freshwater on the planet. From space you can observe the bottom relief to a depth of 500 meters.

7 Siberia Fun Facts Siberia takes up 57% of Russia. Tunguska meteorite fell in Siberia. At the site of the Tunguska meteorite no crater was found, and no meteorite fragments. One of the most popular dog breeds – Siberian husky is from this region, as well as Siberian tigers!

8 Classwork As you read Natural Resources (pages 359-360), make a web diagram of all the natural resources found in Russia. (Hero point to the person who finds the most! Natural Resources
