Welcome Test Management Change in training philosophy! A few powerpoint slides One short video On your own practice (complete the checklist) 1

Welcome Please log into PearsonAccess next training center. – http://pearsonaccessnext.com/ http://pearsonaccessnext.com/ – If your login credentials do not work or assistance is needed, please notify the Pearson presenters or CDE staff before training begins. User accounts in the PearsonAccess next live site are currently locked. 6 Training site Test Management Your password for the training site should work in the live site! Tip- Create one training account in the training site to let your staff play around. Share login and password. (as opposed to creating a separate account for all staff) 6

Incorrect test assignments If you want students to take a math test other than what they were assigned, you need to call Doug. If you change a test assignment manually, our daily upload to Pearson will change it back the next day. I will have to override the system. 7

Accommodations Deadline is March 15 th If you miss the deadline, you will have to remove students from their session, add the appropriate accommodation and then add them back to the session. Error message- If you get an error message that a student doesn’t have an IEP or 504, it’s probably an issues in IC. 8

Technology considerations Don’t use the Chrome browser for proctor caching. (Proctor caching video will be shared via email just prior to spring break) New desktop app!!! (reduces dependency on JAVA) 9

Using wireless in your building Here are some wireless network best practices to help ensure success: Spread Students Out - Do not test groups of students in close proximity to one another if it can be avoided (“back to back classrooms”). – Please contact one of our Network Technicians (Eric Merrill or Greg Martien) ASAP if you would like a map of where your school’s wireless access points are located. Turn Off - Students and staff should turn off any personal or unnecessary device. DTS is confident the wireless network will perform if those these points are honored. Greg Martien-All schools west of Main street plus the Erie feeder. Eric Merrill- All schools east of Main street plus the Lyons feeder. 10

CDE directives Science/SS testing order- Be very careful that students test IN ORDER when taking the science and social studies assessments. The PAN system WILL allow you to test out of order but that will result in misadministration. Don’t give up on testing until you’ve included your DAC and Pearson in the troubleshooting process. Please keep track of ticket #’s! 11

CDE directives When students hit the submit button, they are done testing! There is no ability to “unsubmit” this year! (because of the new additions to the interface) 12

Automatically creating sessions Let me know if you don’t want your sessions created in our upload based on the classes the students are enrolled in IC. I will be creating these on March 16 th in our daily upload. You will still need to check your session rosters carefully!!! 13

Log Out of TestNav (To return to same unit/section) This process also applies to students who are moving to a different device (possibly because of technical issues). Be sure to safely log out of the old device before logging into the new device. 19
