4. George Kerscher, Ph. D Kerscher began his work when he founded Computerized Books for the Blind in 1988 as an advocate for individuals unable to read traditional books. Kerscher's work has continued with time, and his efforts have lead to more books becoming digitized in formats that are easier to operate. George Kerscher is a strong advocate and positive example for inclusion and assistive technology.

Teachers must also be trained on how to use different equipment appropriately in the classroom. General education teachers benefit from an overall awareness of assistive technology.

9. Cost Initial investment must be considered, but it is not the only cost. Repairs and replacement will need to be considered in budgeting for assistive technology. Lecture will include ideas and strategies for locating resources that can assist in funding these necessary devices and services.
