Cheetahs Living Free and in the Wild This research report is by: Iyanna Tutson

I learned about… The Protector of the Family How Do They Hunt? There Weight Is … All About The Cubs Why Cant I Find A Cheetah?

The Protector Of The Family Have you ever heard the saying “call it mothers intuition?” Well call this Cheetahs intuition. Adult female cheetahs move there cubs to a new hide out every few days to make it harder for predators to find them. However the protecting dose NOT stop here, to protect the cubs they also let the cubs stay with them until years old. The protecting NEVER stops!

How Do They Hunt? Sometimes cheetahs may look loving but they are fast, protective, ajial, and feirce hunters they get as close as possible to there prey and stalks it, and then, when it thinks that its prey is in “position” it ATACTS its prey and brings back dinner for her cub.

There Weight Is … The average weight or an adult female cheetah is pounds. How they manage to stay so slim when they eat whole gezels. But they still manage to do it.

All About The Cubs The first thing a child usualy sees is his or her mom or dad, but a cheetah however sees his or her mom caring a gezel for dinner. 3-5 cheetah cubs are born at once. They stay with there mother from years old. They use camoflage to protect themselves from danger and are moved from place to place.

Why Can’t I Find A Cheetah? It took 4 Million years for cheetahs to get the way they are today. But yet it only took 100 years for humans to put them on the endangered list. It’s not like humans are the only ones to blame because predators like lions are to blame aswell.

I learned about… Heading 1 How long does it take for venom to kill? Heading 2 How do they protect their territory? Heading 3 Where can they be found? Heading 4 How much stamina do they have? Heading 5 Do they eat their own kind? Did you know? Komodo Dragons travel in packs just like wolves

Heading 1 How long does it take for venom to kill? About 24 hours at most. Additionally venom can’t kill a Komodo Dragon. Komodo Dragon saliva is red that contains venomous bacteria. Therefore the prey dies.

Heading 2 They protect it by standing on their hind legs and try to knock their opponent down. They do the same when trying to get a mate and protect their young. How do they protect their territory? Did you Know? That Komodo Dragons are a type of Monitor lizard. This means they can run fast, swim well, and lastly climb trees!

Heading 3 Where can they be found? They are found on 5 islands called: Gili Dasami Second, Gili Montag Then, Komodo Lastly, Flora

Heading 4 How much stamina do they have? They have a high level of stamina. Considering how much they can climb trees Swim fast And run up to 12 mph

Heading 5 Do they eat their own kind? It is still unknown if they do. But research says they can eat each others poisoned prey. I infer that they can eat their own kind Did you know? That Komodo Dragons are turbulent, gray, camouflaged, giant creatures who love outside world?

BIG BEARS This research report is by: Seth Lampel

I learned about… The Standing Sloth Polar Survivers Fast Blacks Scary Grizzlys Giant Pandas

The Standing Sloth Sloth bears have three toes on the front feet and five on the hind feet. The Bradypus (Sloth bear) is about the size of a house cat, with a dense, furry coat and yellowish face. The somewhat larger two-toed sloth has very long hair.

Polar Survivers Polar bears start and grow to be very furry. They have a thick fur coat that appears white in coloration but is really translucant. Their fur is dense and water repelling. Adults need an average of 2k (4.4lb) of fat per day to maintain their weight. Their black skin color is really apparent on the nose, eyes, lips, and foot pads. This Polar bear is very hot on dry land because of it’s thick coat of it fur.

Fast Blacks Black bears can run at speeds of up to 25 miles (40 km) per hour when chasing prey. Even faster, Polar bears can reach up to 35 miles (65 km) per hour. These speeds are fast enough to allow bears to run down a reindeer, and they can easily outrun a person. They can also swim up to 6 miles (10 km) per hour. However, bears can not run at these speeds for more than a few minutes. Their thick fur and blubber make them too hot.

Scary Grizzlys Grizzly bears are very large, tall, and powerful. They are exellent hunters and prey on large mammals such as deer. They are 6 to 8 feet ( cm) long. They stand 3 ½ to 4 feet ( cm) at humped shoulder. They can weigh up to 800lb (360 kg.) Grizzly bears might not look scary when they are young but they are actually very powerful.

Giant Pandas People wonder if Panda bears are even really bears and they can also end their life to be very big so people just refer to them as “Giant Pandas.” First the cubs teeth appear by the time it is 14 weeks old, and the mother and cub spend much less time using their den. Next the cub starts to play with it’s mother and at 7 to 9 it starts attempting to eat bamboo. Then the cub continues to nurse until 18 years of age.
