Introduction Our project is intended to lift a 1 kg (2.2 lb) weight 1 meter in 10 seconds. Most of the materials were found in the dumpster outside of Mayo Garden Center. We spent a small amount of money buying supplies from Walmart.

Overview We release a BB bullet that rolls down a ramp and through a spiral tube. It hits a hanging arm that knocks a heavy bolt off a pedestal. The bolt pulls a pin out of a ramp that releases our car in turn pulling up the 1 kg weight.

Designs Setbacks We struggled the most with our car design. Our original car is hot-glued to the base of the project because it was too light to lift the weight. The other problem we had was the arm design. The transition between the arm and the ramp was difficult to maneuver.

Conclusions Our project took about 20 hours to build and paint. All visual effects were hand-painted and built by the team members. A few mechanical kinks were worked through over the course of 5 days. Special thanks to Patrick Berge!
