2 Intro The goal is to successfully make a roller coaster. One that will last fifteen seconds. Equipment includes scrap wood, tubing, screws, a pulley, string, tape, and steel balls. None of our equipment cost over forty dollars.

4 The Team

5 Overview The ball will be dropped and go into a funnel.
From the funnel, the ball will continue on and spring a mouse trap, causing a second ball to go down a ramp and continue the course form a higher location. The new ball will complete a simple falling course and land in a half coke can.

6 Equations Ball – Gravitational to Kinetic energy M.G.H.=.5M.V^2
Ball hitting mouse trap – Impulse change in momentum. Counter weight – Potential energy by change in height. Energy lost to heat and sound. Heat is friction.

7 Ending The project took overall more than five hours with varied work times. More time was spent on writing the reports and making the powerpoint. We had issues with our original design which involved an elevator. The project varies on timing from about ten seconds to fifteen seconds.
