Re: TGm Call for comments on SDD, IEEE m-07/040 Abstract: This document proposes the superposition-coded multiplexing scheme for the downlink of IEEE m, which can be considered as a supplement to the orthogonal multiplexing schemes, e.g., OFDM and TDM, in order to further improve the cell spectrum efficiency. Purpose: For discussion and approval by TGm. Notice: This document does not represent the agreed views of the IEEE Working Group or any of its subgroups. Superposition-Coded Multiplexing is very useful for the environment of rural area to fully utilize the fact of near-far propagation. Superposition-Coded Multiplexing allows the multiplexing of the users in mode of close-loop and the users in mode of open-loop. Received signal of BPSK and 16QAM overlapping each other: Received signal of the near-end user

Insert the following text into Physical Layer sub-clause (i.e. Chapter 11 in [X]): Superposition coded multiplexing shall be used to support broadcasting and unicasting to multiple users within each cell, where the same frequency/time/space resource can be assigned to more than one user, in order to provide high system throughput with fairness. Insert the following text into Medium Access Control Sub-Layer sub-clause (i.e. Chapter 10 in [X]): When superposition coded multiplexing is being performed, the MAC sub-layer should be allowed to assign the same radio resource to the set of users ready for superposition coded multiplexing.
