Presentation transcript:

And other exciting things...

EVAPORATION Evaporation is when the particles in a liquid heat up, they became less dense and have more energy. This means the lighter energy particle will either turn to gas or a fine mist meaning the hot(higher energy, less dense) particles are “bounced” off the surface of the liquid and are sometimes lost to the wind. Lower energy particles don’t bounce as high and therefore are not picked up by the wind and return to the liquid. It is exciting.

Cool Evaporation cools you down, the higher energy particles that contain the heat evaporate away from the liquid taking the heat they have with them.

Quick quiz Evaporation.... Heats you up. click hereclick here Cools you down.

WRONG Go back and... REVISE

Right Carry on...

Which particles evaporate? Higher energy click hereclick here Lower energy Medium energy

RIGHT

Do all particles that leave the liquid through “bouncing” evaporate? Yes, of course No... If they want to...

THE END WELL DONE
