What is Globalization? Question: What is the truest definition of Globalization? Answer: Princess Diana's death Question: How come?

An English princess… with an Egyptian boyfriend… crashes in a French tunnel… driving a German car… with a Dutch engine… driven by a Belgian… who was drunk on Scottish whiskey… followed closely by Italian Paparazzi

on Japanese motorcycles… treated by an American doctor. As told to you by a Canadian… on an IBM clone using a Taiwanese-made chip… assembled by Bangladeshi workers in a Singapore plant……this is Globalization!

Unit 3: Global Interdependence In this unit, we will be exploring themes of global economic interconnectedness. This will be done by looking at the disparity between nations in terms of money and living conditions; exploring why there are marked differences between developed and developing countries (largely due to colonization); doing a case study of how coffee is a global resource that affects the economies of all countries; a case study of India; and a project about what NGO’s are.

There will be in-class discussions, assignments and questions.  There will be three (3) Exploratory Learning activities related to political, economic & social interdependence.  Learner choice within each category.  Academic learners must present findings from at least one of these activities.
