Cathedral of Christ the Savior in Moscow - Cathedral of the Russian Orthodox Church, not far from the Kremlin on the left bank of the Moskva River.

Start of construction of the cathedral took place on the day of the 25th anniversary of the Battle of Borodino - in August Сonstruction lasted almost 44 years.

The temple is a collective cenotaph Russian Imperial Army who killed in the war with Napoleon. On the walls of the temple are inscribed the names of the officers who died in the War of 1812.

December 5, 1931 the temple was destroyed on the orders of the Soviet government. In 1994 was began the reconstruction of this temple.

Nowadays the Cathedral of Christ the Savior perfoms the function as a temple and museumю
