TODAY’S OBJECTIVE  Today, I will be able to select a genre and story seed for my genre project. I’ll know I’ve got it when I’ve chosen a topic that appeals to me and is appropriate for class.

YOUR NEXT PROJECT  Any genre you choose!  Topic must be school appropriate.  You must incorporate all of the different writing tips/tricks.

WHAT GENRES CAN I CHOOSE?  Fantasy – uses magic & other supernatural phenomena as the primary element of plot, theme, or setting. Many works take place in fictional worlds where magic is common.  Science Fiction  Realistic Fiction  Historical Fiction

WHAT GENRES CAN I CHOOSE?  Fantasy  Science Fiction – Uses scientific concepts as primary the element of plot, theme, or setting. Many of these stories are set in the future with new innovations in science & technology.  Realistic Fiction  Historical Fiction

WHAT GENRES CAN I CHOOSE?  Fantasy  Science Fiction  Realistic Fiction – Events, people, & places might be real, but the story is fictional.  Historical Fiction
