 Alan Barnard Judging Process Round 1: Pre-selection against Minimum LAA Entry Criteria Each company, wishing to submit an Enviro entry to LAA, must submit an Entry Form with an overview of their entry - approximately 1000 words Judges review the entry summaries. Those entrants not meeting minimum criteria, will be contacted by one of the judges with a "recovery" suggestion or a suggestion to delay the entry for a year. Round 2: Site Visits Should the judging committee feel it is necessary, they may contact you to arrange a site visit. Short Listed entrants are invited to present to the full Judging Panel. Round 3: Evaluation against Final Presentation All Judges score each entry during the Final Presentations Round 4: Final Scoring Meeting Final list of entries is discussed - Judges have the responsibility to submit their scores after listening to inputs from others. Final results are made after this scoring process.

Was this product/project specifically commissioned to address climate change and the reduction of fossil fuel use or was it a natural extension of the product line? 15% 2 Strategy, Analysis & Planning Does the company have a sound environmental policy in place ? Is this reflected in the way they conduct their business activities, manage the supply chain? Are there reduction targets in place that are quantifiable? Has the company measured it’s carbon footprint and what methodologies were used to do this and is the process verifiable? Is the company involved with any external activities / commitments such as CDP, EE Accord, UN CEO Water Mandate, green building council of SA? 10%

Is the project aligned and compliant with the applicable standards and regulations? e.g. ISO 1400 certification, King 3 Governance, Energy efficiency Act (15% saving by 2015) Air Pollution act and waste Management Act 5% 4 Customer Awareness To what level did this project / product provide the company with a platform to actively engage with consumers on green issues, savings and benefits and how was it leveraged? 10% 5 Business results To what extent did the project contributed to company’s Top Line (Sales growth) and Bottom Line (Profit growth) results? Have emissions been reduced and are these reductions quantifiable? Have carbon emissions been traded successfully? 10%

 Alan Barnard LAA Assessment Criteria : ENVRIO NoCriteriaGuideline Self-Assessment Weighting 6 Operational improvements To what extent did the project improve operational performance and productivity metrics and how does the achieved level compare to industry benchmarks (if available)? 5% 7 Sustainability Is there sufficient evidence that the implemented logistics solution and performance will be sustainable in the medium to long term? 5% 8 Collaboration To what level did the project / company or product improve supplier collaboration and improve co-operation and integration with upstream and downstream partners in the supply chain to achieve environmental objectives? 5% 9 Communication management To what extent have they been successful in creating and addressing the need for green supply chain practises as well as communicate if applicable the various tools available to do this? E.g. Lean six sigma, Green SCOR, Various software optimisation packages. 5%

E.g. waste recycling, Industrial Theatre, energy treasure hunts, COPs. Does the company also make provision of opportunities for ongoing personal development, training and rewards? E.g innovation thought on savings etc from staff rewarded. 5% 11 Environmental sensitivity Is the entry sensitive towards the environment e.g. was an environmental impact assessment performed (EIA). 5% 12 Impact on society To what extent does the entry impact on society in both positive and negative ways. 5% 13 Caliber of submission Describes the quality and completeness of the entry and other presentation material as submitted to the organizers of the Logistics Achiever Awards. 5%
