Description Summary: Our generator was made by gluing two pieces of plywood to each end of four wooden dowels. We then attached four magnets onto a brass rod and ran it through a hole we had drilled out in the box. Finally, we put the fan blades on, added a coke bottle filled with water to add weight, and mounted the entire thing on a ply wood base.

Materials Materials list: - Enamel coated wire ($21.00) - 4 magnets (2 x $3.00) - Fan blade ( cost of fan $7.00) - Brass rod ($1.00) - plywood ($2.00) - 1 wood dowel ($1.00) Total Cost: $38.00

Calculations Equations: KE = ½ mv^2 P = 1/2ρ (air) Av^3 (theoretical) Efficiency = P (actual)/ P (theoretical) Readings: - Volts: 2.5 volts - (theoretical ) Power: 104 watts - (actual) Power: watts - efficiency: 0.2%

Problems Problems Encountered: - Finding the proper wire and magnets to use. - Finding which fan blade would work best. - Not producing enough volts. - Originally had an unstable generator.
