3. Goal To create a working windmill that generates enough electricity to power a 1.5 volt light bulb during a one month period.

4. Creation Process Aerick drew up some designs that the group chose from. We ordered the materials needed for the project. We began the constructing the windmill making changes as needed. Most of our progress was made in Estabrook 13 where most of the construction took place.

5. Supplies PVC pipe pieces –free Scrap wood base and supports –free Wooden rod -$5 Copper wire -$10 Magnet -$15

6. Design A typical propeller system attached to a neodymium magnet ring, magnetized axially spinning inside of a large array of small 30 gauge copper wire rings, similar to industrial level generators.

7. Problems Encountered We had difficulty gathering all four members of the team. Our design had to change slightly as we constructed it. The PVC pipe does not fit with the wooden rod correctly so the shaft does not spin as well as we had hoped. The propeller design was changed to allow for an easier construction.

9. Conclusion Although we have made many changes to the original design of the windmill, we are still proud of the finished design and we are happy to be finished with the construction.
