Presentation transcript:

The Russells spent a hot day walking through the Royal Gardens of Melbourne, not far from the city center.

The Royal Gardens is full of interesting plants and there are many paths to take through the grounds.

Bees were buzzing boldly around nectar-laden flowers.

Near a very unique tree, kids played in the fountains on a hot and sultry day.

Huge trees with strange trunks were in the Garden.

Fuzzy yellow blooms adorned this tree.

Some trees towered over the visitors— and some had smooth, interesting bark like this one.

A bed of yellow and red flowers.

A slightly fuzzy shot of a unique bird that is sort of like our black bird, but has half of its coat white.

Fragrant violet blooms amidst a sea of green.

Unique gold and brown flowers nestled in with lavender ones.

A family picnics just beyond a massive tree.

Various shapes of succulents seek the sun.

Large Eucalyptus trees abounded in the park.

A small building housed some of the more delicate plants.

Pitcher plants await flies that seek their syrup deep in the plant. The insects are then prevented from crawling out by small barbs—and soon drown.

Delicate orange flowers splay out in the humid air.

Hawaii has many of these same plants— gorgeous!

Huge ferns were thick in one part of the gardens.

A burst of red amidst a field of green on a sunny day.

A meandering gnarled trunk was the foundation of this huge tree.

Delicate yellow and red blossoms on a patch of flowers.

The Royal Gardens was a very tranquil and enjoyable place to visit.

Our travelers in a candid shot on the way out of the gardens.
