You have 1 hour 30 minutes to answer two questions. There are lots of books on the paper: find the right ones! Section A: Modern prose or drama Spend 45 minutes on “An Inspector Calls” Out of 30 marks (20% of GCSE) You have a choice (either Q17 or Q18) Question is an essay title Section B: Exploring Cultures Spend 45 minutes on “Of Mice and Men” Out of 30 marks (20% of GCSE) You have no choice (Q21) Question is an extract from the book to comment on (part a), followed by a question about the wider social historical context of the novel (part b).
