Smoking Research has shown that smoking increases heart rate, blood pressure, tightens major arteries, and can create irregularities in the timing of heartbeats, all of which make your heart work harder.

Diabetes The American Heart Association estimates that 65% of patients with diabetes die of some form of cardiovascular disease. If you have diabetes you should already be under a doctor's care, because good control of blood sugar levels can reduce your risk.

Physical Inactivity People who are not active have a greater risk of heart attack than do people who exercise regularly. Exercise burns calories, which helps to control cholesterol levels & diabetes, and may lower blood pressure. Exercise also strengthens the heart muscle and makes the arteries more flexible.

Heredity Heart disease tends to run in families. For example, if your parents or siblings had a heart or circulatory problem before age 55, then you are at greater risk for heart disease than someone who does not have that family history.

Every 34 seconds a person in the United States dies from heart disease. More than 2,500 Americans die from heart disease each day. Every 20 seconds, a person in the United States has a heart attack. At least 250,000 people die of heart attacks each year before they reach a hospital.

Studies show that under-educated people are more likely to suffer heart attacks. Men suffer heart attacks about 10 years earlier in life than women do. People who eat beans at least four times a week have a lower level of heart disease (19% lower) than people who eat beans less than once a week.

Every Year, more than:- 4.9 million person die because of tobacco use. 1.9 million person die because of physical inactivity. 2.7 million person die due to decreased consumption of vegetables and fruits. 2.6 million person die because of overweight and obesity. 7.1 million person die because of hypertension. 4.4 million person die because of hypercholesterolemia.
