SAFESPOT Project Kick off Meeting February 16 th and 17 th 2006 Rome 2 Participation in the SP1 SAFEPROBE RENAULT Perception & Advanced Driving Assistance Systems and Communications and Information Technologies for Active Safety WP1.2 Needs and Requirements ■Contribution to the definition of Scenarios and Use Cases related for SCOVA and COSSIB applications. ■Systems Analysis  Proprioceptive & Exteroceptive Sensor Data  System Design – Architecture ■Formulation of System Requirements  Microscopic Vehicle State  Macroscopic Vehicle Immediate environment

SAFESPOT Project Kick off Meeting February 16 th and 17 th 2006 Rome 3 Participation in the SP1 SAFEPROBE WP1.3 Specifications ■Sensing the vehicle ego-state ■Sensing the vehicle immediate and near environment ■System Design and Architecture ■Sensor Fusion Approaches -- Information Gain WP1.5 Test and Validation ■Validation Plan ■On site platform validation ■Performance Analysis

SAFESPOT Project Kick off Meeting February 16 th and 17 th 2006 Rome 4 Participation in the SP1 SAFEPROBE Expectations ■Gain an overall understanding of the vehicle as a macroscopic and microscopic sensors when operating as part of a larger collaborative larger system ■The vehicle as a sensor node of a Sensor Network ■Determining by experimentation the information that can be inferred from data collected by car operating as a probe, information latencies, information gain from the use of a combination of multiple sensors. ■The possibility of quantifying gains in terms of safety enhancements.
