BEFORE THE MIRROR This photo is a part of the Thannhasuer Collection. The Artsit, Justin Thannhauser, followed in the footsteps of his father by becoming a painter. Eventually the artist opened his own art museum and created this oil painting.

A YEAR WITH CHILDREN 2014 This artwork was actually done by children. The Guggenheim Museum provides a program called LTA for elementary schools in New York. This program supports artist creativeness and curiosity.

RECONSTRUCTING THE UNIVERSE This photo represents Italian Futurism. This era lasted from The artist of this photo and a major contributor to this specific era is F. T. Marinetti.

SIXTY YEARS OF LIVING ARCHITECTURE: THE WORK OF FRANK LLOYD WRIGHT Opened on October 22, 1953, the 2 constructions were built to show a ‘temporary pavilion’ made of glass and a house modeled similar to the Usonian dwelling places. These officially became “the first Wright buildings erected in New York”.

CROWDS LINED UP This picture is of crowds lined up outside the museum awaiting its opening. “It represented a long-awaited tribute: the first Wright Buildings Erected in New York.”

REFLECTION  The museum I chose had interesting pieces of artwork on display. I also found it captivating that the museum is not in the United States but actually in Bilbao, Spain. It was cool to be able to view pictures from another museum in another country. One of the main themes that I learned about was called Italian Futurism which is something I’ve never heard of before. I also learned about Justin K. Thannhauser, one of the artists who’s works and collections were featured in the Guggenheim Museum. He followed in his father’s footsteps by becoming very involved in art and even opened his own museum after he became a business man. The museum also focused on the buildings of the Wright Brothers which were the two last photos I chose. Apparently, it was a great accomplishment for New York to be able to open up Wrights Brothers pavilions which is why in the last photo so many people are lined up to await its opening. Overall, the Guggehiem Musuem in Bilbao, Spain was an interesting museum to focus on because I was able to see artworks and learn about the accomplishments of another culture.
