Setting Goals Grade 7 Healthy Living

Goals What are goals? Goals are something that you aim for that takes planning and work. There are short term and long term goals. Goal setting is a skill and it involves a process that will give you direction and a timetable for completing the work.

Why Set Goals? Why do you think people need to set goals for themselves? Can you identify the people on the next slide? What goals do you think they may have set for themselves when they were your age?

Goal Setting Assignment 1 1.Do you ever set goals for yourself? What are some goals you have for yourself right now (short term and long term)? 2.Agree or Disagree: It is better to set lower goals than to risk failure by setting higher ones. Explain why you think so in 3 sentences. 3.What is the difference between a wish and a goal? 4.Have you ever set a goal that was unrealistic? What happened? What did you learn from that?

Goal Setting Assignment 2 Complete the handout: “Identifying and Reaching My Goals” Important Note: Make sure your goals will not harm or disrespect yourself or others.
