What will we learn today? Today we will learn what is bullying what we can do to stop bullying

What is bullying ? Bullying is when a person, or a group of people, is being DELIBERATELY unkind to others, calling them names, taking their things away, or physically hurting them. Words and name-calling do hurt.

What can you do if you are being bullied ? Write down some ideas here. The next slide will give you some ideas.

Tell an adult straightaway. Be assertive. Tell the bully “NO” and walk away. Work out a reply to the bully. Don’t fight back. Try not to show you are upset. What can you do if you are being bullied ?

What do I have to do? You must produce an anti-bullying poster to be put up around the school. Make sure you use bold lettering and eye-catching effects.

INTRODUCTION  Present the first two slides of the PowerPoint and read the objective and focus for the lesson DISCUSSION  Show the first animation of the next slide containing the question “What is bullying?  Before the answer comes up ask children what they think we mean by bullying. Ask the class to come and write on the board any words or sentences they have thought of  Show the first animation of the next slide, “If you are being bullied. Give out Worksheet One and ask each group to brainstorm what they could do if they were being bullied  Continue the animation on the slide with things you can do and discuss each one TASK  Display next slide and give each child a blank piece of paper  Ask them to create an anti-bullying poster to display around the school
