Lighting safety 1.Buy safe fittings and shades 2.Use correct wattage of bulb for the shade 3.Shade should not be too close to the bulb 4.Plenty of light for dangerous jobs 5.Lighting should not flicker or glare 6.Have dangerous places e.g. stairs well lit. 7.Bathroom lighting should have pull cord switch or switch outside the door

Replacing a bulb  Switch off light  Let old bulb cool before removing if necessary  Fit new bulb of correct wattage  Test light
