9999 The purpose of a job interview is for the employer to learn about you and your qualifications and to decide if you would best fill the job opening. It is also the time for you to learn about the job. The interview is your chance to meet face to face with the employer and convince him/her that you are the person to hire. You must do a good job of 'selling yourself' to the prospective employer if you want to get the job.

10 2. What should you do to be prepared for your interview? Be prepared about what to say Dress up in your finest party clothes Plan on getting there a few minutes late so the interviewer will think you’re a busy person all of the above

11 Great work!

12 The question was… “What should you do to be prepared for your interview?” The correct answer is… 1. Be prepared about what to say

13 There are several things you can do to prepare for an interview. * Be prepared about what you are going to say. Practice answering some common interview questions. Also, be ready to talk about your schooling and work experience. * Know something about the company. You then will be able to show a sincere interest in the company. You will be able to ask intelligent questions about the job and the company. * Have your resume ready to take with you. The interviewer may not have seen your resume or not have a copy available. * Be appropriately dressed and groomed for the interview. We'll talk about what to wear to an interview in just a few minutes.

16 The question was… “You have an interview at 10:00 am. It takes 15 minutes to get there. What time should you leave?” The correct answer is… 3. 9:30 am

17 You should always allow for some extra travel time when going to a job interview. You should not arrive so early, though, as to appear over-anxious. Ten to 15 minutes ahead of time is a good guideline. Never arrive late for an interview. Employers want employees who are on time.

18 4. Your car won’t start and you find a friend who can take you to the interview. You will now be about 15 minutes late. What should you do? Go ahead and pretend you were given the wrong time Explain in person why you are late Call and say you’re sick and reschedule Call the interviewer and explain
