3 Prepare for the Job Interview
Take steps ahead of time to prepare for your successful job interview. The more prepared you are, the more confident you will be and it will show! More on confidence later. Make sure you are clear on the position description of the job you are interviewing for. Research the company you are applying with in advance. Go to their website and read what they say about themselves. Also, search for any recent news articles about this company. Have an extra copy of your resume with you. Be sure you know the directions to their location and have transportation arrangements made.

4 The Day of the Interview
Plan to arrive minutes ahead of your scheduled interview time. Be sure you are dressed appropriately for the position you are applying for and that your clothing is clean. Never wear jeans to a job interview even if that is the dress code. Do not bring anyone with you even to the reception area, If someone has given you a ride, make sure they remain outside in the car. If you have to bring your cell phone with you make sure it is turned off. Better yet, lock it in your vehicle while you are in the interview.

5 Introductions Many companies have a receptionist when you first enter their location. Be friendly and respectful when you introduce yourself. Often the receptionist is asked to provide input after your interview on his or her first impression of you. When you meet your interviewer (or in some cases interview team) be confident, shake hands and introduce yourself. Let them know you have an extra copy of your resume available if they need it.
