D.Workfare, W2, Wisconsin works 1.must take job or job training or no welfare- expanded to community service 2.positives: dignity, work ethic, reduced welfare roles by 55% which is a lot of money saved 3.Negatives: not enough good jobs, kids hurt by being away from parents, lack of quality daycare which leads to culture of poverty, causing homelessness, what happened to 55%

E. Welfare programs 1. Unemployment: cash up to 26 weeks for temp unemp. And those looking for work 2 food stamps- limits what you can buy 3.WIC: baby supplies for pregnant and newborns to prevent health problems 4.School lunch for healthy children 5. TANF- cash payment to help with kids - limited to 5 years in a lifetime 6. Medicaid/Medicare: health insurance for poor 7. SSI insurance- money set aside for retired, disabled 8. subsidized housing
