THE BOY IN THE STRIPED PAJAMAS A WONDERFUL STORY OF FRIENDSHIP AND ADVENTURE

CHAPTERS 1-5 Bruno is the son of a high-ranked Nazi official, he has a sister named Gretel and a mother. A man named the “Fury” is Bruno’s dad’s boss. Otherwise known as the “Führer” or Adolf Hitler. He finds out he has to move to a place called “Out-With” which is actually called “Auschwitz”, he just misheard it.

CHAPTERS 6-11 Bruno is starting to like his new home and he’s finding fun things to do. One day he goes exploring to the fence and meets a little boy wearing striped pajamas named “Shmuel.” They become friends and play together everyday. Bruno asks what the symbol on Shmuel’s shoulder means, and he doesn’t know what to say.

CHAPTERS Shmuel comes to the conclusion of what the symbol on his shoulder represents. One day Shmuel comes to Bruno’s house to clean the glasses. Shmuel gets in trouble for eating Bruno’s food. Bruno’s mom then decides that she wants to go back to Berlin with the children, but Bruno doesn’t want to go because he has a new friend on the other side of the fence. Bruno wants to go over to the other side, so Shmuel gets him some pajamas to wear.

CHAPTER Bruno is about to leave to go back to Berlin, so he decides to visit Shmuel one last time. This time he puts on a pair of striped pajamas and crawls under the part of the fence where it is lifted up. He is going to help Shmuel look for his dad. He gets in the middle of the crowd to go on a “march”. They were then taken to the “showers” where they thought that they were being kept out of the rain, but ended up dying in the gas chamber. Bruno’s father comes running looking for him to find his clothes left beside the hole in the fence. His father then falls to the ground crying.
