Works by Mark Jenkins

Guidelines: FIRST decide what position the body will be in and where it will be displayed! Work with a partner (or partners) to envelope each section of your body with clear packing tape. Each of you will make your own. The first layer must be sticky side out! The next 5 layers need to be sticky side in for a total of 6 layers of tape. Remember the more layers you have, the more stable the figure will be. Once you have wrapped a section of your body (ex: arm), you will use cast scissors to CAREFULLY cut a seam down one side of the section for removal. Then tape the seam together and tape the body part to the rest of your sculpture. Repeat the above steps to complete the figure. Things to try: you can insert lights, colored tissue paper, leaves, flowers, and any translucent material into the layers of the tape. If you do lights, plan for them to be on the hollow inside of the form.
