Biomass Wood Garbage power

What is biomass fuel? A fuel that contains carbon and was once living (recently)

What is the major advantage of biomass fuels It is available and can be grown

How are biomass and energy related? they both power something

Where does the biomass energy in wood come from When burned it gives off heat and smoke in co2

How has our use of wood changed over history? Where is it still used? Humans first used wood to cook and for heat. Now it is used to decorate homes. In rural areas in the world people still use wood.

What are two disadvantages of wood fuel? It causes destruction of habitats and gives off Co2

How much garbage can be burned? About 2/3

How is electricity made from garbage? The garbage is burned, which boils the water, which makes steam, and the steam turns the turbines which makes electricity.

What items in garbage can be burned? What cannot? All metals, glass, and plastic cannot be burned. Everything else can be burned.

What American cities are using garbage as fuel for electricity production? Lake county, Minnesota, New Jersey, Northland all use garbage as a fuel.
