Play Learn & Loan Toy Library Service

Our “Play, Learn and Loan” service offers FREE drop in play sessions for children and their parents/carers, along with Childminders and professionals across the borough of Halton. Halton Play Council is a registered Charity which operates this as a service commissioned by Halton Borough Council..

 Each “Play” Session lasts for 1.5 hours  We currently visit 5 venues – 3 in Widnes, 2 in Runcorn  Each Venue is visited on a 2 weekly basis - but we are somewhere in each town every week.  We will also see parents on a 1:1 basis

 Our ‘Play, Learn & Loan’ service provides parents/carers access to quality toys  Advice and information regarding play  Friendly Social atmosphere for both adults and Children.  Signposting to other services  Opportunity to hire resources/toys at a nominal cost

 We currently have over 400 resources, with an approximate value of £40,000.  These are resources suitable for both mainstream and additional need children.  The range of resources available for hire can be seen in our catalogue at the drop in sessions, and also on our Facebook page.  Our current hire charge is £1 for a 2 week period – this is per item regardless of size or value. It could be a jigsaw set worth £10 or an Additional Need Trike worth £1,500 or anything inbetween!!

.Children and families have access to a range of quality/educational/developmental toys – to address all their needs.Parents; learn to play with their children and understand how toys/play can support childrens development.Parents/children enjoy a positive, supportive social opportunity
