2 What is being delivered? Play Offer Positive Activities for Young People Targeted Group Work NEET Work Targeted Support 1:1 referrals

3 Play Offer 28 Children’s Sessions take place each week, plus a further 7 Lunch time sessions based in Primary Schools Adventure Playground Sessions Detached Play sessions in Parks and Open Spaces

4 Positive Activities for Young People Open Access Sessions 23 Open Access sessions weekly across the 5 BYL Lots A wide range of activities including Music, Cooking, Sport, Arts Targeted Group Work 12 Targeted Groups take place weekly This includes - Disability Friendship Groups, Young Carers, Young Women’s Groups, 4YP Sexual Health groups, Teen Parent Groups

5 Targeted Support 1:1 Referrals 97 referrals for Children97 referrals for Children since January 2014 “4 step model” agreed with Bristol City Council with aim of integrating children into mainstream provision Emotional, Behavioural Support, social isolation 376 referrals for Young People376 referrals for Young People since January 2014 Assessment and 12 week plan

6 Gaps in Services Feedback from young people at Area Forums: Mental Health, particularly self harm and bullying Support for young people with physical and learning difficulties, particularly around transition to adulthood Response to emerging issues e.g. radicalisation Careers Advice, support to access Work Experience and Volunteering opportunities

7 Issues Tension between Universal and Targeted Work Increasing complexity of referrals and higher thresholds for support Targeted, outcomes based contract Vs Time and space for children and young people to play, relax, socialise etc. Links between BYL and CVS and promoting whole range of services available to children and young people Works more effectively at targeted end of spectrum, e.g. supporting FIT team

8 Particular needs of our consortium Finding suitable delivery venues is an issue without traditional Youth Centres Staff training and development
