Food comes in tons of different shapes and sizes. Does that mean that we should eat them all whenever?

Some foods, like cookies or French fries should be enjoyed as treats, on occasion, not eaten every day as a meal.

Fast foods are full of sodium (salt), fats, and cholesterol. These foods are okay to eat on occasion but should not be consumed regularly.

A lot of drinks have artificial sugars added to them. Pop and juice are a few examples of drinks with large amounts of sugar. Water is the healthiest drink you can put into your body

There are different kinds of sugar. Good sugars are natural and found in food like apples and nuts. Bad sugars are artificial ones added to foods to sweeten them

Calories are not necessarily a bad thing. You need calories for energy, however, eating too many calories can cause unhealthy weight gain

1. Find you age. 2. Choose your male or female column. 3. Choose your activity level. (hint: sedentary means not active, moderate means somewhat active) 4. Determine what your calorie intake should be.

Eating a balanced diet is also a very important thing to remember in order to stay healthy. Your meals should contain servings of each group at a specific size.
