Early Native American Settlements Native Americans home were designed for the areas they lived in. LONGHOUSE Built with pole frames and elm tree bark covering. Tribes stay in the same place for a long time. TEEPEE made of a cone-shaped wooden frame with a covering of buffalo hide. Teepees designed to pack up quickly so tribes could follow buffalo herds (main source of food) Pueblo Adobe Homes (Adobe is clay and straw baked into hard bricks) multi-story houses like apartments.
