Why TN/2? TN/2 was normed in 2000 TN/2 will facilitate alignment of instruction to the Maryland School Assessment (MSA). The norm group includes students whose Individualized Educational Plans (IEP) specify testing accommodations.

Grades 3, 4 and 5 What is The Maryland School Assessment (MSA)? The MSA is a test of reading, math and, eventually, science achievement This test provides educators, parents, and the public valuable information about student, school, school system, and state performance.

Facts About The MSA  The test meets the requirements of the federal No Child Left Behind Act.  The test is administered annually to students in grades 3 through 8.  Scores from the March administration are expected to be available by late summer.  The test includes both multiple choice and brief constructed response (BCR) items.

MSA Scores Norm Referenced National Percentile Ran k s How well a student performed in reading and math compared to his/her peers nationally Criterion - Referenced C-R items provide proficiency scores expressed as Basic, Proficient, or Advanced How well a student has mastered the reading and math content specified in the Maryland Content Standards
