This game may have been invented in the late 1800’s…

This game was actually invented in the 1800’s. It is still popular in various forms today.

This toy was invented in 1914 by Chares Pejeau after he saw children playing with empty spools of thread, pencils, and sticks.

The idea of a Teddy bear became popular when a cartoonist portrayed President Teddy Roosevelt refusing to shoot a bear.

The first roller skates were invented in the 1700’s by John Joseph Merlin. It is said that he crashed into a mirror at a party while on skates; the popularity of roller skates was put on hold for a while.

The yo-yo has been around since ancient times. In 1866, it was patented and called the Whirlygig. Donald Duncan bought the company in the 1930’s and got a new patent under the name Y0-yo.

The Frisbee was invented by Walter Morrison in They were originally named “flying saucers”.

This is played with a ping pong ball. There are teams on each end of the table and the ball is set in the center. Each team tries to blow the ball off the other team’s side of the table.

This game actually was introduced in Hawaii in the 1920’s. Milk delivery men would play the game with milk bottle caps. It was reintroduced in the 1990’s with manufactured Pogs or cardboard discs. The discs had designs and pictures on them and were collected.
