Hani Ragab-HassenCO600/CO620 – Briefing – 2 Final Year Projects Some facts  Project counts as 25% (30 credits) of your final year  It is a compulsory element of the programme  Deadline for registration:  Stage 2 students: Friday 1 st of June at 16:00  Industrial placements: 1 st week of the 2012/2013 academic year (Friday 28 September)

Hani Ragab-HassenCO600/CO620 – Briefing – 9 Types of Project  CO600 – Group Project  Students can propose a project, but have to find a supervisor that is willing to supervise  Industrial placement students can suggest projects related to their working experience (One student group)  Involves industrial collaboration  Groups of 3+ (maximum 5)  There is no point of having groups of 2  There are exceptions for groups of 1  E.g., year in industry, project involving confidentiality

Hani Ragab-HassenCO600/CO620 – Briefing – 10 Types of Project  CO620 – Research Project  For students who are considering postgraduate research  Achieving at 2(i) level or above (ie have an overall Stage 2 average of at least 60%)  Usually the topic is chosen by supervisor  Need to give a presentation to the research group  These are challenging projects  Aiming for submitting a paper to a conference, workshop, etc.
