 Brangus cattle are black or red  They are a polled breed  They have medium ears and have a hump on their upper back/ neck  The females are 1,000 to 1,500 pounds while the larger males to 1,800 to 2,000  They are terminal breed but have very maternal instincts  They are mostly docile with few extremes

 The Brangus cow’s origins are from the united states in the 1930’s  They are 3/8ths brahman and 5/8ths angus  It was developed on a ranch in Oklahoma  The brangus cow average lifespan is about 15 years  They were born into domestication  They are a beef cow that is meant for beef production in southern states

 There nutrition comes from four things  -roughages  They are high in fiber but low in energy  -grains  High in energy but low in fiber/makes them gain weight faster for the market  -oilseeds  Provide energy, proteins, and some fibers  -co-products  grains, sweet corn cannery waste, bakery waste, grain screenings and apple pomace.

 Hygiene- don’t need much attention besides basic things like food and water.  Herd identification- there are numbering system for specific cows and they show it by marking them Disease prevention- Do their best to keep animal diseases out of their business; Ensure adequate hygiene; Be alert to symptoms of disease; Comply with requirements when importing animals from other countries; Notify a vet of any suspected animal disease. these animals prefer to inhabit areas with plentiful access of grass, stem and other plant material to support their grazing.  The habitat is grasslands and pastures.

 Brangus calfs are born pounds  They are weaned at 6-10 months and then sent to a stocker and are fattened up  You can register them through the international brangus breeders association.  They are usually $2500 a head on the market  insemination (both natural and artificial) as well as embryo transfers are the meathods of breeding for brangus

 Meat cuts

 Grass fed (natural fed) is grazed with grass and the artificial fed are with antibiotics.  Some of the products made out the leftovers of cows are Mouthwash, Shaving Cream, Detergents, Soaps, Crayons, Deodorants, Perfumes, Toothpastes,  A veal calf is about weeks of age and weighs up to 500 pounds.
