The Kansas Support Services for Elders (KSSE)

What Is KSSE? KSSE is a personal financial management assistance program for adults age 60 and older living in Sedgwick, Harvey, and Butler counties KSSE is a personal financial management assistance program for adults age 60 and older living in Sedgwick, Harvey, and Butler counties Volunteers assist participants with sorting mail, filing, check writing, bank statement reconciliation, budgeting, and completing forms Volunteers assist participants with sorting mail, filing, check writing, bank statement reconciliation, budgeting, and completing forms

How Does KSSE Work? Volunteers meet with RSVP staff for a brief interview. Volunteers are required to provide 3 references and consent to a KBI background check. Peer Support Program (PSP)

What is the Peer Support Program? A volunteer program that seeks to improve the mental and physical health of seniors age 60 or older A volunteer program that seeks to improve the mental and physical health of seniors age 60 or older Volunteers meet with a peer partner for one hour, once a week. Together they set self- defined goals, take steps toward improved mental health, and increase their community connection Volunteers meet with a peer partner for one hour, once a week. Who Are Our Volunteers? What Will I Be Doing? I’m Still Not Sure... Give it a try! We only ask for a ten hour commitment over two and a half months. At the end of this time you can choose to continue or not. If not, we’re always happy to have you back at a later time and you will not have to repeat either the interview or training.
