Spearhead of Logistics! 2 UNCLASSIFIED Soldier for Life Campaign Mission Soldier for Life connects Army, governmental, and community efforts to build relationships that facilitate successful reintegration of our Soldiers, Retired Soldiers, Veterans, and their Families in order to keep them Army Strong and instill their values, ethos, and leadership within communities. Government Government Information Information Community Community Army Army Education Employment Health Endstate Soldiers, Veterans, and Families leave military service “career ready” and find an established network of enablers connecting them with the employment, education, and healthcare required to successfully reintegrate into civilian society. Army Imperative: Sustain the Premier All-Volunteer Army Transportation Role Getting recognition for military transportation training and experience Assertively encouraging credentialing bodies to give credit towards licensing Host and attend credentialing summits aimed at creating open dialogues and discussions Establishing an Army pilot for 3 rd party testing for CDL Collaborating with training and employment programs to help Soldiers learn occupational skills to become career-ready Attainment of credentials during military service contributes to the “profession of arms.” In a SHRM Poll, 60% of employers cited translating military skills to civilian job experience as a challenge to hiring employees with military experience.

Spearhead of Logistics! 3 UNCLASSIFIED Our Most Successful Initiatives Motor Transport Operators Commercial Drivers License (CDL) Truck Drivers Interagency effort with DOT and FMCSA along with DOD, DOL, and VA Military skill waivers now accepted by DOTs nationwide 10,108 waivers issued as of November 30, 2015 Transitioning Soldiers are eligible based on operation experience Marine Deck and Engineer Officers and Operators Marine Vessel Crewmembers and Pilots Close relationship with National Maritime Center and US Coast Guard One-stop shop for 27 endorsements, 11 credentials, and one master license Terrific cost savings for the service member and potential employers (over $40,000) Well-established program Transportation Movement Coordinators and Managers Supply Chain and Distribution Managers Senior-level opportunities only Certified Export Specialists through NEI Growing program currently with 18 participants Cost savings

Spearhead of Logistics! 4 UNCLASSIFIED Credentialing Challenges Cargo Handling Specialists Cargo Handlers, Stevedores, and Crane Operators Individual state port authority requirements No central governing body Exploring options to partner with interested employers Transportation and Logistics Officers Organization Managers and Leaders Commissioned officers (Second Lieutenant thru Colonel) May obtain recognition as a Demonstrated Senior/Master Logistician Must pursue certification as Certified Professional/Master Logistician at own discretion No recognized credentialing body for “certified” or “licensed” leaders/managers Way ahead: Establish credentialing body for cargo handlers Continue to refine relatability of military skills to civilian employment Credentialing for management and leadership professionals
