Purpose Of Lesson To teach the very basic and absolutely necessary PC software. To teach what the basic routine PC maintenance software are and how to use them to do maintenance.

(OS) OPERATING SYSTEM (OS) IS SOFTWARE THAT MANAGES THE COMPUTERS HARDWARE AND EXECUTION OF APPLICATIONS

DISK CLEANUP SCANS YOUR COMPUTER FOR OLD FILES THAT ARE NOT USED ANYMORE AND LETS YOU DELETE THEM OR COMPRESS THEM

DISK DEFRAGMENTER SCANS HARD DRIVES AND FINDS FILES THAT ARE NOT IN ORDER (FRAGMENTED) LETS YOU DEFRAGMENT THEM SO THE COMPUTER CAN READ THE HARD DRIVE FASTER!!!

BACKUPS You should at least set up a regular system backup so you can restore a computer to a previous state. You will of course loose some data, but usually just a week at the most if you restore your system.

SERVERS Holds large amounts of data Can service large number of computers Can be used to backup data

SOFTWARE Big servers will use purchased software However there is free software like FreeNAS

HOME SERVERS Little servers for homes or small businesses Can be built or purchased Can used purchased software or freeware like FreeNAS
