PERSONIFICATION Personification is when inanimate objects have power.

HYPERBOLE A figure of speech in which exaggeration is used for emphasis or effect, as in “I could sleep for a year” or “This book weight a ton”

IDIOMS An idiom is a combination of words that has a figurative meaning owing to its common usage.

ALLITERATION When two or words in a poem begin with the same letter or sound the same.

ONOMATOPOEIA Sounds that explain and show like splat, slam, and boom.
