How Are Plants Like People?

Can You Guess What Both Need In This Picture?

Did You Say Sunshine? Correct! Plants use sunlight in order to make food for themselves. Which allow them to survive. People are able to get Vitamin D from the sunlight. This vitamin helps to keep our bones strong.

What Is Needed In This Picture?

Did I Hear Water? Correct! Plants and People need water to live. All living things need water to survive. If we don’t have water we would all dehydrate. Both plants and animals will dehydrate. Plants become brown and die, while people get very sick.

Now Take A Deep Breath & Let It Out Did You Just Take In Some Air Into Your Body? Keep This In Mind For The Next Step

Look Closely At The Pictures What Do They Have In Common?

How Are Plants Like People? Both Plants and People take in air. The only difference is that plants take in something called carbon dioxide when they take in air. People take in oxygen when they take in air. Plants and people also help one another. Plants take in carbon dioxide, and make oxygen for people. People take in oxygen and make carbon dioxide for plants.

Nutrients Anyone?

Yes, Both Plants And People Need Nutrients Plants get nutrients from the ground. The nutrients are in the dirt/soil. Nutrients from the ground provide food for the plant. Plants need these nutrients to grow. People get nutrients from different types of food. It is important for us to eat, so that we can grow to be healthy and strong.

Hot Days & Cold Days

How Does Temperature Change Plants and People? If the temperature is really hot or really cold, plants can die. A plants environment is very important in order for it to survive. Different plants need to be in different types of temperatures. People also need the right temperature and environment. If it’s too hot or too cold, people can get really sick.

Can You Think O f Any Other Ways In Which People Are Like Plants? I’m Sure You Can
