Important Information to Know Fast Forward: 5 Year Post-Secondary Graduate Follow-Up Study 86% of 1995 graduates were employed 71% were employed full-time in jobs directly related to their education Full time employment was higher for graduates who left the province(88%) than those who remained in the province(73%) Graduates of programs of longer duration had better employment rates than other programs 93% of 2-3 year public college programs; 83% of 1 year public college programs

Fast Forward Study Graduates of programs of longer duration had better employment rates than other programs 93% of 2-3 year public college programs; 83% of 1 year public college programs 81% of 1 year private college programs 78% of 2 year private college programs 88% of MUN’s undergraduate programs 92% of MUN’s master’s programs

Other The majority of employed graduates(79%) reported having permanent jobs 1995 graduates across all sectors reported higher wages in than in 1996 Males generally reported higher wages than females Respondents living outside the province also earned higher wages than those in the province Most respondents reported they were satisfied overall with their work(95%) and their wages(80%)

Other 55% of respondents reported they were willing to move to improve their job prospects 1 in 4 graduates had undertaken further educational pursuits Varying significantly by sector, the sources of post secondary funding most frequently used by graduates were government student loans(44%), personal eanrings(36%) 61% of those who had used government student loans still had an outstanding balance 5-6 years after graduation – average $12,867.

Employment Rates by Educational Attainment The greater one’s education, the better the chances of finding work 2003 – year olds employment rates for high school grads were 75.3%, compared with 81.6% for university grads Higher levels of education are generally associated with higher wages.
