Four facts about Egyptian Gods and Goddesses! Contents: Isis page 2 Osiris page 3 Horus page 4 Set page 5 By Kelvin

The Goddess Isis Isis was the god of many things such as the goddess of love, the moon, magic and also fertility and healing. Isis was the daughter of Geb and Nut and became the consort of her brother Osiris, they married and they had a son called Horus. The name Isis means throne and her headdress is a throne so she was an important representation of the Pharaoh's power

The God Osiris Osiris was the god of Death, Underworld and rebirth. But he was murdered by his jealous brother, Set so he could overthrow Osiris and then become the Lord of the Underworld. Osiris had green skin to symbolize rebirth and regeneration. Also, he had a white clothing to reflect white mummification together with a tall white headdress called the Atef crown.

The God Horus Horus was the Egyptian solar falcon God and protector of the monarchy who symbolized courage and victory. The rulers of Egypt were ‘ Followers of Horus’. Also Horus was one of the most ancient gods and was depicted as a falcon, or in human form with the head of a Falcon. The sun and the moon were said to be the image of the ‘Eye of Horus’ which became a powerful amulet among the ancient egyptians.

The God Set Set, who was known as the Egyptian God of Evil, war, hostility, darkness and hot barren deserts and storms. Set was the youngest son of the Earth god, Geb and Sky Goddess Nut. Also Set was the brother of Osiris and was featured in the mythology of ancient Egypt as his infamous brother, Osiris was the Lord of the Underworld until he was murdered and cut into pieces.
