July 2008 Copyright © 2008 Mississippi Department of Education SPP/APR State Performance Plan (SPP) Annual Performance Report (APR) [The State] must annually report to the secretary and the public on the progress of the State, and of children with disabilities in the State, toward meeting the goals established under § (a) for the performance of children with disabilities in the State, that may include elements of the reports required under Section 1111(h) of the ESEA. [34 CFR (c)] [20 U.S.C. 1412(a)(15)(C)]

July 2008 Copyright © 2008 Mississippi Department of Education Indicator 1 - Graduation Baseline 618 data for Students with Disabilities (SWD) graduating with a regular diploma was 21.87% - increase graduation of SWD with a regular diploma each year by 0.5 for the first four years (2008 increase by 1.0, 2009 increase by 1.5, and 2010 increase by 2.0). Calculations:  = 807 / 3690 = 21.87% - Baseline  = 767 / 3819 = 20.08% - Target Not Met  = 752 / 3288 = 22.87% - Target Met

(a) The total number of students who had exit data was calculated by adding together the (number of regular diploma, special diploma, reached maximum age, died, and dropouts. (b) Students who no longer received special education services or had moved but known to be continuing are not included in the total. The percent of students who exited with a regular diploma was calculated by taking the total number of students (a) and dividing by the total number of students with exit data (b). (a / b = c)

The Mississippi Department of Employment Security, Office of Labor Market Information reported a 43.42% employment rate of 18 to 24 year olds in the state.

This was changed from the LSC Referral Date when we added the PCE field.

LSC Response – users have three choices: TST - Referred Back to TST REGED - Remains in Regular Ed SPED - Referred for Comprehensive Assessment LSC Response Date – date LSC Response was entered When the user selects 'Referred Back to TST' or 'Remains in Regular Ed' for the LSC Response, data entry stops for those students (LSC Response Date is still required).

July 2008 Copyright © 2008 Mississippi Department of Education SPED Data Entry Note The screen will default the Parental Consent to Evaluate, Eligibility Decision, and Parent Permission to Serve to Y for LS students. These are read-only fields and can not be changed. On the compliance report, when MSIS first runs the procedure, the Eligibility and IEP dates will have an N if there were no dates to pull from the Student Update screen (some have not rolled their data at this point and others have rolled but have not entered data). Once you update the Student Update screen, the dates will pull into the Intervention screen.
