Reasons for Asa’s Success

Asa, Fully Committed 1. He sought only the LORD

"Let us build up these towns," he said to Judah, "and put walls around them, with towers, gates and bars.” 2 Chronicles 14:7a

“The land is still ours, because we have sought the LORD our God; we sought him and he has given us rest on every side." So they built and prospered. 2 Chronicles 14:7b

You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:13

They entered into a covenant to seek the LORD, the God of their fathers, with all their heart and soul. 2 Chronicles 15:12

Asa, Fully Committed 1.He sought only the LORD 2.He was strong in the LORD

But as for you, be strong and do not give up, for your work will be rewarded." 2 Chronicles 15:7

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. Ephesians 6:10-11

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Ephesians 6:12

Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be men of courage; be strong. Do everything in love. 1 Corinthians 16:13-14

Asa, Fully Committed 3.He Served The Lord

Asa did what was good and right in the eyes of the LORD his God. 2 Chronicles 14:2

Does the LORD delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as much as in obeying the voice of the LORD? To obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed is better than the fat of rams. 1 Samuel 15:22

He commanded Judah to seek the LORD, the God of their fathers, and to obey his laws and commands. 2 Chronicles 14:4

The people served the LORD throughout the lifetime of Joshua and of the elders who outlived him and who had seen all the great things the LORD had done for Israel. Judges 2:7

After that whole generation had been gathered to their fathers, another generation grew up, who knew neither the LORD nor what he had done for Israel. Judges 2:10

Then the Israelites did evil in the eyes of the LORD and served the Baals. Judges 2:11

Service Above Self Gen. H. Norman Schwarzkopf

"No one can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money. Matthew 6:24
