Starting Word Choose Microsoft Office > Word from the All Programs menu Use the Quick Launch toolbar Double-click a Word document icon in Explorer 4

13 Navigating with the Keyboard Keyboard navigation moves the insertion point Arrow keys navigate one space or line at a time [Page Up] and [Page Down] keys [Home] and [End] go to the start or finish of a line [Ctrl]+[Home] and [Ctrl]+[End] go to the start or finish of the document

Closing Documents Close by clicking the File tab Choose Close from the menu Word will prompt you to save your file 14

Starting a New Blank Document Start by clicking the File tab Choose the New command for a blank document  [Ctrl]+[N] is the new document shortcut 15

16 Getting Help in Word 2010 Click the Help button in the upper-right corner Use the Table of Contents to browse topics Use search to look for a topic

Exiting from Word Click the File tab and select the Exit button  You can also use the Close button on the upper-right corner of the Word window Save before shutting down your computer!  You will be prompted to save if you have not done so 17
