PAINTING WITH DOTS Pointillism

As a table, come up with ways that you think Seurat achieved this effect. Decide which one is the most likely As a table, create a drawing using the technique you decided on. How do you think he did it?

ANSWER IN YOUR SKETCHBOOKS What is pointillism?

Rubber Band brushes Take about 10 rubber bands of different thicknesses Cut them into two strips of about the same length Attach the strips to the masking tape Put the craft stick at the beginning of the tape toward the bottom and start rolling the tape. You just made a paint brush!

Warm and cool colors (Atmospheric Perspective) Warm colors (red, yellow, orange) will come forward and look like they are in front of the picture Cool colors (blue, purple, green) will recede and look like they are further back Cool fact, that is how they do 3-D, that’s why there is one blue lens and one red lens!

ANSWER IN YOUR SKETCHBOOKS What is the point of using pointillism to paint?

requirements You must have two vases of different sizes You must use cool colors in the back and warm in the front You must use the rubber band paint paintbrush that you made Take your time and do your best, put your name and grade on the back Work neatly and cleanly
